I am from Coventry and planning to submit my OCI application in London HCI on 7th May.

As 7th May is a bank holiday but the HCI is open, just wanted to know your views as what to expect once I reach HCI? Will it be very busy on the day? I understand that the HCI opens at 8.30am, how early i need to queue to get my application submitted on the day? Any other tips will be useful.

Thanks.

From HCI London website

NEW TIMINGS FOR SUBMISSION OF PIO/OCI APPLICATIONS FROM
1st May 2012

OCI

Issue of Tokens 1230 – 1430 hours
Opening of Counters &
Submission of OCI Applications: 1300 – 1600 hours
Collection of OCI Cards/Visa: 1630 – 1700 hours

All service seekers for OCI and PIO may kindly note the new timings and approach the High Commission accordingly. Cooperation of all is solicited.
With these new timings not sure when should i reach HCI and queue for a token to get my application submitted on the day? Do you all think that these new timings will help in reducing the morning queues?

I am appyling for my 2 kids OCI soon. Me and Wife had already one.

I would be applying Via post to London consulate. What amount of postal orders needs to be provided per application £172 or £172 +2 = £174?

I am submitting application in duplicate with following
1. Minor BP copy
2. Minor Birth certificate copy
3. Father + Mother BP copy
4. Father + Mother OCI card copy
5. Father + Mother cancelled Indian passport.
6. Required Postalorder

Are these enough.?

Please Help..
Many Thanks in Advance....
Hi, Did you get response? Is that all you need to send i.e just the photocopies of all including the PHOTOCOPY of birth certificate? Also should we need to use the black ink or blue ink for thum impression for minors...?

I did my daughter's with black ink and was accepted, received OCI also.
Only I can say about your photo - your full face is clear enough then acceptable. Still in doubt get another photo.

Birth Certificate - I produced only Birth Certificate of my daughter and was accepted.

OCI for Minor

Post by newc » Sat Apr 28, 2012 1:45 pm

Hi could someone suggest abot signing on page 3 of application for Minors.

Can parent sign on page 3 of application i.e. where it says Firts applicant and then Spouse Applicant? We are only applying for a Minor child

I understand that need the child impression on Page 1, which is fine but should we need the thumb impression on page 3 as well or parent can sign?

I applied in person @ Birmingham. I took two set (copy) and one set original.
They checked the original and returned back then and there.

I took thumb impression on Page 1 (inside the sqaure) and the rest of the section I signed on declaration as well as I am the parent/gardian of the minor as well above that section too.
Hope this helps.

Does anyone know if the status changes are regularly updated on https://passport.gov.in/oci/OnlineOCIenquiry.jsp ?

I applied on 18th and the documents were scanned on 19th.
No progress since then.

Do they update all statuses together when ready for collection or is it just being progressed slowly?

Regards,

Sent postal on 19.4.2012,
Reached HCI London on 20.4.2012.
Date Of Acknowledgment 02-MAY-2012
Photo/Signature at Mission :Scanned On 03-MAY-2012
Registration Status at Mission : OBJECTION On 04-MAY-2012
1: OLD BRITISH PASSPORT COPY REQUIRED

So my application for OCI Miscellaneous Services is now delayed. It is not mentioned anywhere that I should send a copy of the Old passport. But some one at HCI London has made up a rule that he needs to see the copy of old passport !

I assume a backlog is developing.
i was browising the forum, and most of the cases in 99% of cases its granted next day after photos/signature scanned..I don't know why all of a sudden such a delay
