Hi,

IT returns by themselves are proof of your income. Could you please clarify your question my dear friend?

IT returns accompanied by salary slips and bank statments ( showing salary deposits) are suffice to claim income evidence...

You need salary slips, P45 from previous employer, and bank statements. This should be enough to cliam IT points.

based on my approval -

IT return for past year + salary certificate (on letter head signed & stamped)

Now, i know people do put bank statements and other things but its all upto you if you want to include everything. I did not want to confuse the CW with so many docs so gave the required..

BRUV PLEASE!

you got your approval before nov 7 rules went into application under old criteria if i understand correectly..

Under new criteria there are very specific regarding earnings proof documentation which can't just be letters from tom, dick, harry employers.....but 2 supporting evidences of which one has to be tax returns .. till the period it covers... Some people say thats Saral (from Indian context).. But saral is a self assessment return. Some say its form 16 (Indian context) , but how you get form 16 again from employer is beyond me.

I believe form 16 is better than saral although you can send both as form 16 is similar to what p60 serves in UK for salaried employees.

And obv. payslips covering all the period, and bank statement as well.

Now sorry for the abrupt langauge but these changes are like a bloody climax in bond rubbish...

Hi Umesh,

I like to strongly agree with your views.

For the applicants from INDIA, you get the photo-copy of IT return as acknowledgment of your return filing, which is not ORIGINAL (original is submitted to the I-T office), and this is the self assessment; and I think can not be considered as the Guidance notes says, "Self assessment tax documents are not accepted, as they are not independent".

As far as my understanding goes, Form 16 can be submitted instead of IT return, but still you have to claim the exceptional consideration, as the Original Form - 16; one has already submitted to the Tax-Man, and one has the photo-copy only with him. I dont think any employer would be willing to issue a duplicate or second copy of Form-16.
