what a coincidence, after posting today I get home and find a letter from the UKBA... telling me that when my biometrics were taken back in March 'the process was not successful'. I know need to submit them again (and pay another £20!)
Has this happened to anyone else? I presume after I redo them my case will be back to the bottom of the pile and I will be waiting another two months to hear anything else...

Hi dodokire, I don't know what's happening in your exact situation, but we have been told there is a backlog of applications right now. It has been less than 2 weeks since you submitted your application - and in that time there have been IT problems at the Border Agency, and a bank holiday. Both of these are likely to affect application times.

If you're worried about the bank refusing a payment then why not contact your bank - they will be able to tell you if anyone has tried to debit money from your account.

"Service disruption at public enquiry offices

04 May 2012

Our public enquiry offices (PEOs) have experienced disruption over the past few weeks. We are working hard to ensure that we return to a normal service as quickly as we can.

If you have been affected by the technical problems at one of our PEOs
If you have recently attended a 'premium service' appointment at one of our PEOs and were unable to provide us with your biometric information; we will contact you today (Friday) or tomorrow to offer you a new appointment.

The new appointment we offer you will be before 18 May; but it may not be at the same PEO as your original appointment.

Booking a 'premium service' appointment
If you would like to book an appointment at one of PEOs for a 'premium service' appointment please see our 'Booking an appointment' page for further information.

We intend to review our opening hours and appointment scheduling systems to provide a better service for applicants; and to better manage service disruption."

Hi everyone,

Has anyone received anything lately? Anyone that applied in January/ February got their visas yet? Just interested to see if anything is actually happening or not.
Thanks

Hi, I believe there are 2 or 3 people here who applied in Jan or Feb and have got their visa. You should be able to see their post between page 6 and 10 (not sure exactly which page). But they all got their visa and passport back in April.

I knew a girl, who enrolled her biometrics on the same day as me - 23/3/2012, has got her passport back last week. She received it on 3/5/2012. But then she was applying for PSW visa so it may not be comparable to us.

Post by 2222 » Fri May 11, 2012 3:36 pm

I am still waiting since 23rd February 2012 for FLR M, I am not happy at all. This is 11 weeks today, I got the Biometrics done in Glasgow on 28th March . I really need to book my holiday... If any one applied late February, please let me know your updates.

I will never ever apply by post again.

Update for my partners application:

Applied by post 3rd March
Biometrics letter 26th March
Biometrics done at post office 31st March
Still waiting.

Have holiday booked end of July. On another message board a guy who applied in Jan and did Biometrics 6th March got his documents back earlier this week. Still not sure if the waiting is linked to the application date or the biometrics date. Too long whichever it is. sigh.

Been following this post for a while. Reading these posts, it seems like UKBA is on a paid holiday.

My timeline is

Jan 26 - Applied for FLR(M) and sent application
Feb 01 - Received confirmation of application
Mar 07 - Received biometric letter
Mar 08 - Biometrics submitted

Nothing since.

Your and mine are exactly same dates.
Im switching over to FLR(M) from tier-4 too.
I guess you mean your biometrics date is 20/03/12 cuz u hav mentioned 20/02/12.
No news till now, I'm planning to write to our MP now as me and my wife who is british, cant make any travel plans, no holiday.
If there is an emergency then we are stuck.
Seems like ukba doesnt care about our personal life. Someone needs to tell them to provide service to us as we are their customers and pay atleast £550 per application.

Waiting FLR(M)

Post by fedupwaitingtoo » Tue May 15, 2012 7:00 am

Hi everybody...

Like everyone in this forum, I'm very disappointed :(
My husband & I made contact with our MP and his Office. Not heard anything for 2 weeks now. We had quick response from the MP Office and they sent letter very quickly to UKBA. We spoke with the office to see if they had heard anything and was told it could be 30 to 40 days before a reply would be made from UKBA.

My time line just to show we are not alone in this....

Application sent 6th January 2012 with all documents.
Acknowledgment letter dater 31st Jan received 3rd Feb 2012.
Biometrics letter received 10th march 2012
Enrolled Biometrics Golders Green post office 13th March 2012.

Date BRP recieved : Still waiting.
Date documents received : still waiting.

Application is fiance visa to FLR(M)

We feel let down by the performance of UKBA and see all problems in both forums and on the news. We also see they are getting bonuses for their good work!!!!

All the best to everyone and good fortune.

THATS IT!! THIS HAS GONE WAY OVER THE TOP!!

Its not a free service. That's hard earned money we pay and after waiting for months and months still no reply. Not even a letter/email to update the applicant of the progress. No updates for 6 months!!..WHATTT??!!?? Are they having a laugh, they think we got nothing to do for 6 months of our life. Some JOKE of a service this must be!. Even the post office track delivery on parcels for a £5 charge, we pay the Home Office hundreds of pounds and get nothing in return!!!.

And on top of all this NO ONE questions them. Why aren't there any regulatory bodies monitoring the services of the Home Office!!!

IVE DECIDED TO GO SET UP A PEACEFUL DEMONSTRATION IN FRONT OF A MAIN HOME OFFICE SITE. I'm going to bring together as many people as possible, show them that people are not going to shut up forever!!

WHO'S IN???

Now they want new photos

Post by AngieLynn09 » Wed May 16, 2012 2:28 pm

My husband and I contacted our MP to make an enquiry and they finally received some information. Apparently our application is "awaiting the caseworker's decision." Vague, but at least that means it has a caseworker and it's not waiting to be given to one. But as another sign of UKBA incompetence, they informed our MP that we should send them new passport photos because they were about to request them from us. We sent current ones with the application, so now they've decided they're too outdated I suppose! It's not my fault they've had my application for so long! Argh, anyways, sending new photos tomorrow.
I called the helpline and was told to send them to the address on my acknowledgement letter. Can anyone confirm if that is correct?

Applied: 22/01/12
Returned as invalid: 22/02/12
Fiance visa expired: 22/02/12
Fresh out of time application made: 28/02/12
Acknowledgement letter: Dated 01/03/12
Biometrics letter: Dated 22/03/12
Biometrics enrolled: 03/26/12

FLRM Waiting

Post by billnome » Wed May 16, 2012 3:13 pm

Hi Guys
I applied in Jan18th,
Biometrics 16th FEb....

ANd thats it....

Nothing more/............

I m getting depressed and I got a year kid as well.. waiting to see his grand dad...

I am getting fed up..

I dont know what to do, any one can give me a bit of advise...

I think we should all write to UKBA anonymously and try to send emails to every possible UKBA email addresses we can find over the internet, may be thats get to someone ear and they do something about it..

The standard of their service is getting poorer and effecting peoples lives very badly.

Any suggestions please any one???????
