Can I also ask - 27th Feb - was this the date on your Acknowledgment letter or the date you posted your application?

I have not received any reply to any of my letters of complaint to the UKBA and have copied the (one way) correspondence to The Chief Inspector of The Border Agency!

Dear Sir

I have failed to get any form of response to the letter of complaint attached. The original letter has not been acknowledged or responded to so I sent a copy by email to the official complaints email address but have not received any acknowledgment of this either.

I am not expecting my individual complaint to be investigated by the Chief Inspector of the UKBA but would like to bring to his attention the fact that large numbers of passports are being returned once ILR has been granted but the decision dated three to four weeks before the date the passports are returned.

If required I am sure a number of these applicants will be willing to provide their details!

My wife received her passport with ILR dated only two weeks earlier but in the last few weeks this has become three or four weeks for applicants! Several applicants have contacted the UKBA after the official date of granting ILR but some time before receiving their passports back only to be told that a decision has not been made yet. This suggests that the UKBA may be massaging their figures in an attempt to hit targets. If this is the case then this may be something you might feel needs investigation.

Please feel free to contact me if you need further information.

Bob Russell

If I get any interest in this I will get back to this forum to get volunteers to give their stories!!

God, I sooo agree, do you also get the Delta offering flights Managua, becuase that is where I'm from and I don't know if it is just coincidence or relates to searches I've done in my computer?

Hubby's SET M

Post by allpatienceisgone » Fri May 18, 2012 6:02 pm

Hi all,

I have been spying this forum for a while now, hubby and I are waiting on his SET M to come through and I am really losing the plot. We applied late February, got acknowledged the 27th Feb 2012.

Hubby lost his grandmother 4 weeks ago, of course, we are prisoners here at the moment and couldn't attend the funeral. Hubby is unemployed, not for lack of looking and trying. He's got an MA and years and years of experience in oil and gas, and just is having no luck at all for work.

Sod's law, though, the phone has been ringing the last couple of weeks, and as soon as he mentions that his passport is with the UKBA, the line goes cold. So unfortunate!

I wrote my MP 2 weeks ago with no response yet. I would think our application should be relatively straightforward. I run my own business, though, so that may make it more difficult, but we did send evidence of savings to them, so hopefully they will take everything into consideration.

So tired of waiting, though....don't know how they can get away with this!

It is an outrage!

:(

WTF

Post by WTF » Fri May 18, 2012 6:46 pm

allpatienceisgone, I had similar issues and have just lost a very good job because I didnt had a confirmed visa. The UKBA website conflicts with the BusinessLink website provided by the government to ascertain whether a person is legally entitled to work in the UK.

The business link website suggest s that an employee should have either have a legal document (passport, biometric card etc) or a letter stating that he/she is legally entitled to work in the UK. However once you apply for a visa the acknowledgement letter only states that they have received the application but does not mention that I an eligible to work. I know the UKBA website mentions this but for some employer this alone is not sufficient!

Since I had already resigned before the new employer said they cannot hire me anymore because of the lack of documents, I have had a nightmare of a week trying to find alternate work which is taking my career backwards. In this case the UKBA's delays are causing people to compromise in their careers and take lowly jobs which I believe will hamper the UK economy eventually, I believe!

Anyways, following on from my rant the details of my application.
Application sent: 10/02/2012
Acknowledgement received: 14/02/2012

and the waiting game I think has just begun :(........what a shame. I would like to believe my application is straightforward due to the clean record etc but may be complicated by the fact that I have also applied for FLR(M) for my wife at the same time since her visa was expiring at the same time as me.

Does anyone know if both the applications are made together whether I can atleast get some sort of confirmation when a decision on my ILR is made or will we hear for both the applications together?

Anxious and waiting

Post by SingaporeGirl » Sat May 19, 2012 9:07 am

I sent off my SET (M) on 15 February but exactly a month later got all my documents returned to me saying I have used the wrong form. They refunded my fee. Used the updated form with biometrics section and sent everything off again on 19 March. Acknowledgment letter received on 20 March and payment taken the day after. On 5 May I received my biometrics letter dated 1 May and I went to the Post Office on 8 May to do the data capture. Does anyone know if that means they are in the final stages of preparing the visa? I have a trip booked in June and have been worried sick I will be unable to go, which looks very likely since they seem to be taking so long.

I have got my ILR today

Post by Stillwhisper » Sat May 19, 2012 11:57 am

Hello everyone:

Good news this morning, I have received my passport with ILR. It has almost taken 3 months. I applied through settelment checking service. My timeline is:

Application date: 16 Feb 2012 set (m)
Acknowledgment letter: dated 20th Feb 2012
Fee taken in same week.
Passport received 19th May 2012
ILR granted date : 02 May 2012

Wonder why it took such a long period to receive it , if it was stamped in 02 May. Anyways, next to citizenship as I am in this country from 2005. I need some suggestion plz. I have 6 points on my license, which was fixed panelty point. I did not go to court. Can I apply for citizenship?

I would like to say a big thanx for everyone on this forum.
Have a good weekend.
And for those who are waiting , good luck and best is not to bother UKBA and patiently wait.

:D

Hi All,

Can some one tel me, after Home office said - documents dispatched - how long will take for us to receive these documents by Royal mail signed for post????':?'':?'':?'':?'':?'':?'

As every one says - be patient...honestly I don't know how long should I need to wait on this whole thing...this whole thing is life time lesson to me....I donot want to be in this kind of situation any more ( EVERY THING ON HOLD..WHY SHOULD i PUT MYSELF INTO THIS HORRIBLE SITUATION..) ':x'':x'':x'':x'':x'':x'':x'':x'':x'

Last Monday 14th May 2012 evening 4PM - called Home office - they said my documents dispatched and gave me Royal mail tracking number as welll...

They also mentioned - documents sent to my solicitor - I asked them what is the out come of my this application - they said we cannot give you those details on phone - u have to wait and check ur documents ( though called as High valued migrates - i feel like we are treated as ........t - they dont care about our feelings and situations....)

I checked on Royal mail tracking site till yesterday 19th ( 5 days - since HO dispatched documents) - it says come back later...

Can some one tel me, after HO confirmed about documents dispatched - how long will it take for us to receive these documents????

Thanks and regards. :? :? :x

Sounds like your packet has not yet been picked up by Royal Mail.

If they have picked your packet, you should be able to see an update in the tracker within an hours time.
