Advice pls

Post by kate8118 » Thu Nov 23, 2006 6:12 am

Hi All,

I am applying for EEA2 to have the right to stay here with my partner.
Currently I am holding a visa which is due to expire in jan next year.
I am worried that my visa will expire before being granted a residence card.

would appreciate if anyone has some idea what is the normal processing time. It has been 1 month now since I sent the application.

Cheers,
:D

Hello,

If your visa expires during the consideration of your EEA2 aplication you WHM status is automatically extended until the caseworker reaches a decision.

Normally EEA2 are considered within 4 weeks

Anton

Dali,

That is SO wrong !

It has taken my clients from 7 days to 28 days in all the cases.

Maximum amount of time is 6 months.

I heard about the long going case like yours. There has always been a problems with the case then !

Have you spoken to the Home Office about that ? Have you received any acknowledgements that your application had been received and that it is valid ?

Regards,

Anton

That is not normal. What visa have you applied for and have you received a file number from the Home Office?

Hi there

We did indeed receive an acknowledgment after 2/3 weeks, the HO also asked us for complementary documents that we did sent.
Every time we call the HO they say our case is waiting for further consideration...
Our local MP also wrote to the HO 3 or 4 times to get some explanations but they have not been able to give any reason...

Forgot to specify that we applied for EEA2 residence permit.
