urgent Help. Expiration of visa

I was issued cos in Aug 2011. and it is going to end on 28 aug 2012 and the visa is valid till 5 sep 2012.
I was not able to travel due to some reasons.
Now i have to travel to uk for 2 months. This is my first visit to UK
Is it possible to travel now.
Appreciate your help.

Your visa was probably curtailed.

I would like to know what is the exact meaning of curtailed . tried to search it on net but could not get the right answer . Appreciate if you can elaborate.

google 'curtailed definition' or look it up in a dictionary?

curtailed: past participle, past tense of cur·tail (Verb)
Verb:

Reduce in extent or quantity; restrict.
Deprive someone of (something): "I that am curtailed of this fair proportion".
