Previous earnings - (updated - Liverpool PEO 01/06 approved)

Dear Sirs

Does anyone know if payslips + P14 that match is accepted as a proof of earnings.

Note, I have received P14 Summary which shows gross salary and paid tax in HMRC Enquiry Centre printed in blank paper, but stamped and signed by HMRC officer.

I am applying for settlement with SET(O) after 5 years of WP+T1.

And I do have P60, however guidelines say payslip + P60 is not correct combination since both issued by employer (same source).

Where do you think that the P14 information comes from? Oh yes, it is part of the information that the employer files with HMRC with the P35 PAYE end-of-year return,

I agree John, hence my concern..

However, guidelines say "110. The applicant must provide at least two different types of supporting document for each source of earnings claimed. Each piece of supporting evidence must be from a separate source" and in this case even though employer files in, it is technically issued by HMRC which is separate source?

In other note, what separate proof do people who paid in cash supply? Employer - yes; bank - no, since cash; hmrc - you saying no; accountant - not allowed unless self-emplyed. Advice?

April 2011 - March 2012.. exactly 12 months of 2011/12 tax year

PBS migrants who get paid their salary in cash tend to deposit every such payout in the bank on the same day / next business day ... to ensure that the bank statements will reflect every such payout.

An alternate solution that I can suggest is that you request a employment / tax history for the said year from HMRC .... and use that along with your payslips.

Thanks sushdmehta, I was under impression 'employment / tax history' is no different to P14 when issued by HMRC. However, I have requested it and didn't want to wait till I receive in post since I have PEO on friday. I guess I will move my appointment for later..

And tbh, I didn't get paid in cash, it was credited to my brother's bank account, but don't want to show these statements to UKBA since I thought it will complicate things.

Just came back from Liverpool PEO with ILR approval letter.. (to share my experience as a thanks for everyones help on forum)

- Liverpool PEO 01/06/12 10:30 appointment booked
- Arrived at 9:45
- Security check and token received on reception
- Called for check-in with token number where gentleman checked form, passport etc and gave different token
- Called for payment with token number.. paid the fee
- Called by caseworker with token number to whom I gave my application and supporting docs who asked me to wait 5 mins. After returned my passport with form to biometrics.
- Called for biometrics with token number
- Came back from biometrics and gave passport back to caseworker, told him if he needs any further docs just to ask, he said he is fine. Asked how long biometric check will take... he said from 1-2 mins upto 1-2 hours. So i asked if its ok for me to go out to make a phone call and he said if possible to wait in sitting room for 5-10mins.
- Called back by caseworker after 5mins who said ILR successful, gave me letter and said BRP will be within 7 days.
- 11:30 I was out of building!

Excellent service and happy outcome

Documents submitted to caseworker: (WP+Tier2+Tier1) (originals as well as copies for each)

- SET(O) completed form and photos
- Passport and copy of previous passport
- BRP card
- Police registration certificate
- Life in UK test (btw they will tell you your score there, mine was 23 out of 24)
- Letter from employer stating Apr 11 - Mar 12 salaries breakdown together with monthly payslips
- Letter from HMRC stating 2011/12 tax year salary and tax paid
