We went to Croydon in the morning, just 30 minutes before our appointment time. Security check, payment and biometric, all done within an hour. Waited there until 2pm, suddenly fire alarm went off, everyone had to leave the building. We were told to return an hour later. By 3pm, re-entered the building after security check. Finally at 4pm, number called, we were told that our case wouldn't be reviewed that day. Passports and supporting documents were taken. Approval letter received today via Royal Mail SD from Sheffield PEO.

@"ajs" - If you go to ROD, collection dept, they should be able to tell you the status of your application. I did the same to check the status.

ROD is the place where you collect the documents. In my case it was good that I had been there to check the application status, only after that I came to know that they have sent a letter requesting for additional docs, till now I have not received that letter, but I managed to sent the documents and got it approved.

you will need to go to usual entrance and then ask for ROD. They will give you a RED Tag marked ROD Desk. Then go through security and wait in queue. Usually its counter 4 or 7

I think your lunch break will not be sufficient. Have atleast couple of hours in hand after you reach there preferably early morning

ROD is return of documents which is in the home office...

thats my experience..

I went on 21st May 2012 for my Visa extension but for some reasons the Biomatrics system was down so they took my documents and asked me that we will let you know as soon as we decide anything about your application.

Of course I was upset and I didn’t have any choice so I had to accept that decision and walk away to home after paying huge amount of fee!

Today I was very upset that I haven’t received anything from UKBA yet so I went to home office again this morning in ROD and asked them that I need my documents, can you please check if the decision is been made, she checked and my documents were there with approval letter !!!!

I wonder that if I won’t go to home office then how long will they take to inform me as I just went there and found my case was already approved !!!

I have any question, it says that Mr My Name that you visa is now approved etc etc and general statement but my question it doesn’t say anything about my dependent as she applied with me as well so should I consider her visa was also approved and she will also get the BRP card ?

How they usually treat with those applicants where visa is approved with dependent ?
