Hello
Me and my wife will apply for ILR based on 10 years stay next year. We rarely travel outside the UK, so we have no problems with it (We went outside the UK for about 2 weeks per year on average).
But we want to travel to USA this autumn and this is such a huge country, so we want to go there for about 45 days, maybe even two months. I wonder, is it absolutely safe to do it for ILR or could it be treated that we are not very loyal to UK, especially when it is less than a year until we qualify?
As far as I understand trips for less than 90 days in one go should not be a problem (plus overall limit of stay outside UK). But several years ago I was browsing some documents on Home Office website, it was something like a guidance for case workers there and I read there that even shorter trips may not be Ok for ILR. But I'm not sure and I don't remember which document I looked at.
Could someone please clarify what is absolutely safe limit to go outside UK in one trip? Thanks a lot!
