Thanks Raj,
Mine was at 10.30 a.m. Don't know if the documents i submitted was efficient enough or i need to send any other documents to support my application. I'm yet to hear any sort of feedback/enquiries from them, though mine too was a straight forward application....

Refund of fees difference for reduced service

Post by mehulsanghvi » Wed Jun 06, 2012 3:51 pm

Hi,

I've just sent an email of complaint asking UKBA refund me difference of fees for premium vs. post service.

I am pasting the content below, just in case anyone else who has suffered through similar situation...
======================================================

Hello,

I had applied for the SET(O) premium service at Croydon PEO on 8th May 2012. While my payment was accepted, my application was not progressed further after collection of biometric information. The reason stated to me was that the biometric system was running slow and that our results would not arrive on that day. I was asked to submit all my documents in a folder and was told that I will be contacted on my mobile number to keep me updated. My application was straightforward with my application meeting all the required criteria and having more evidences than asked for in SET(O) form.

Since then no one contacted me for next 20 days and on 28th May I directly received the Biometric Residence Permits with Settlement visa and the documents that I had submitted along with my application. I had to wait for 20 agonising days hoping someone will call me to update me with the status. I even called the enquiry no. at UKBA but was told that they would not be able to provide me with an update on a specific case and that there was no timeline within which UKBA would guarantee a response. I was told that the only option that I had was to wait for someone to contact me.

While I am happy to receive the settlement visa, this is a clear case of reduced service wherein I was charged for full premium fees (£3444.00 including 3 dependents) and did not get to know the outcome on the same day even though my application was straightforward. The reason stated to me on the day was – underperforming IT systems, improvement of which I think is definitely under the remit and control of UKBA. I think the situation was completely avoidable had UKBA maintained its IT systems in line with projected demand of the service for which substantial amount of fees are being charged.

I would now request you to please refund me the difference in fees between the same-day premium service and the postal service which is £965.00

PEO Postal
Main Applicant £1377 £991
Dependent 1 £689 £496
Dependent 2 £689 £496
Dependent 3 £689 £496
Total £3444 £2479
Difference £965

Details of my application are as follows:
Main applicants full name: XXXXXXXXXXX
Address: XXXXXXXXXX
Mobile number: NNNNNNNNN
Residence phone: NNNNNNNNN
Email: xxxxxxxxxx@yahoo.com
Location of application: Croydon PEO
Date of application: 8th May 2012
Appointment time: 10:20 am
UKBA application ref. no.: PEXXXXXXXXXXX/XXX
Biometric Permit no: XXXXXXXX

Kindly let me know if you need any further information from my end to fulfill this request.

Great. If you paid by credit card, I think you should contact your bank as well. It will be interesting to see what reply you get from UKBA

I think everyone who had been effected by IT issues should send this to UKBA after getting their Bio Metric

14th May - ILR deferred case

Post by r_revelli » Thu Jun 07, 2012 11:44 am

Hi Friends, I am a victim of 14th May IT issues at Croydon PEO. I know this thread is for May 8th issues, but is there any thread for 14th May issues?

May I know if anyone got a call/passports applied on 14th may? Please post here. I am still waiting for a call from the PEO.

Regards
Ramesh

I been waiting since 18th APRIL! same story, IT issues popped up after 4hrs of awaiting, kept all documents, but they did send me a letter after 4 days asking for one more document(which I submitted but it didnt seem original enough for them!), I sent the requested document on the same day but no news till now, its been nearly 2 months now, I've sent them letters twice but no updates what so ever! My annual leave starts as of today and is only for two weeks! I had plans to travel but all hope is gone! Now I have to wait another year to see my family! I explained all these in the letter but its pretty obvious they dont give a monkeys!

Good luck to those who are requesting a refund, hope you get a positive outcome.

I am also a victim of 21st May. Still no call or document as yet. Looks like we are only few who are still hanging. Almost everyone got their documents.

But, that's a good thing because this means we will also get our decision in few days. I think the average waiting time (after reading comments in this thread) is about 20-22 calendar days. So, I am counting the days and waiting anxiously for any phone call or door bell for post. :)

Are there any 14th May victims in the group, who got their documents? I have seen only 8th May friends getting their passports. This is just to know where we stand in the queue.

Thanks in advance

I think it all depends on individual cases, I had applied on 28th May 2012 and had issues with Biometric systems. I received a call this morning saying my application with 2 dependants has been approved.
Mine was Tier1 general category and I had 183 days outside UK, out of which 32 days were for business, I had provided the contract documents for this visit rest were all paid leaves, .
