Married to Non-Eu in the UK on student visa.

Post by betchi » Fri May 25, 2012 9:40 pm

I am a naturalised Irish citizen. I am married to a Pakistani national living in the UK on a student visa. We got married in 2008, unfortunately, he was refused a visa to come to Ireland in 2009 thus his move to the UK to be near me, at least in geographical location. What are our chances of getting him here in Ireland. Do I need to get assistance to a solicitor?

Any opinion wiill be a big help.
Thanks.

Why was he refused?

Thanks for your reply. He was refused due to the Relationship History.
I think they didn't believe that the relationship is genuine. You know, they are aware of this scam of marriage for convenience. If you've seen it in the television.Ours is real. we are married. I just come to visit him in the UK.
Sad and frustrating.

Is it possible for you to live in the UK for a period and then return to Ireland under EU law?

The problem is, you probably did not provide solid evidence that you ever lived together. THat is how they can say, "oh, we are not refusing per se, just, at this point, you have not provided evidence required"
