Visa approved - Little complication .

Post by benneviss » Thu Jun 07, 2012 7:05 pm

Tier 1 extension Visa approved on 02 June ( yes on Saturday ) .

Applied on 02 April
Received by UKBA on 03 April
Payment deducted :- 27 April
Bio-metric letter - 19 May
Bio-metric provided - 19 May
Documents received - 07 May 11:30 a.m.
BRP card received - 07 May 13:30 p.m.

Just want to clear some points as I have seen many threads on them.

1. I was paid by cheque every month in my employment . I used to incur expenses on behalf of my company . Two times I was paid with expenses. So there was a discrepancy on my pay slip and bank statement. I explained it on my cover letter and took letter from my employer explaining everything .

2. Last bank statement (print out on plain paper) was stamped by the bank but not signed.

Happy that everything went OK and now I can concentrate on work.

Should we consider this as the policy or that you got lucky that the CW assigned to your application thought that it was okay? I vote for the latter - so not to be taken for granted.

I think there is no such policy in writing . However, if you explain on your cover letter and also take letter from employer , it would be easier for CW to come to the conclusion.

Same for the bank statement , if is stamped by bank then it would be treated as an authentic. .

'if its stamped by the bank it will be treated as authentic' in your case it was, but with respect, you only have experience of your case. I have seen numerous cases where statements have been stamped but have not been accepted because they don't have the banks logo.

As per Policy Guidance Tier 1 (04/2012)Page 18:-

If the applicant wishes to submit electronic
bank statements from an online account these
must contain all of the details listed above.
In addition, the applicant will need to provide
either:
• a supporting letter from his/her bank,
on company headed paper, confirming the
authenticity of the statements; or
• an electronic bank statement bearing
the official stamp of the bank in question will
be accepted.

I couldn't find anywhere, when UKBA is asking signature?

A signature is not required. The banks logo is.
