Visa Reference numbers required

Dear all

The main applicant's visa asks for visa, work permit, etc reference numbers (if known). I am on Tier 1 G (3+2) visa and had not been issued with any paperwork prior to issuing with a visa on my passport. Is it mandatory to know these numbers, and if yeas, where can I find them?

It would not say (if known) if it were mandatory to provide this. You either have one or your don't and you can't provide what you don't have. If you have received correspondence from the UKBA it will on the letter.
