Dear sushdmehtha
I feel the proposal to close the 14 year rule in July 2012 is rather hasty by UKBA. Even though it is still to be put before the parliament, the decision don`t allow those who have been preparing to take that route to regularise their stay to benefit appropriately. Some have done LIUK test, borrowed money to apply and have done other things to comply, only to have the carpet virtually snatched from under their feet.
I opine that in the interest of fairness etc, those affected and people who like fairness, should contact their MPs to rescind the decision or at least allow more time before it takes place.
The people we are eager to remove are criminals who use right to family life to remain in UK, not people who are trying to regularise their stay and live as tax paying good citizens.
