Hopefully they are starting to trickle through then!! I guess my main frustration is the lack of transparency over how they work... I can understand that they have backlogs soemtimes, but we pay enough to be kept informed

Date biometrics booking letter received: 26/03/12

Thank you all very much, all of you guys! I'm thrilled that I got it so soon, because to be honest with you me and my husband we weren't expecting it at all for the fact that our application only would complete 6 months on the 18th July. So we were already frustrated because of this, but at least we came in to terms with it.

But any way, it is a good sign because, as someone here said, this must mean that they might be getting back on track with everyone's here application.

I'm still here hoping that all of you guys get your result as soon as possible!

Thanks again!

very convoluted article - but from what I can make out the changes to settlement only apply to people who entered the entire 'family system' after tomorrow. anybody have another interpretation??

Most changes seem to apply to those applying after July 9th but am not sure if the 5 year period, before anyone can apply for ILR is applicable to all or just those applying after July 9th. Terrible changes though.

Congrats Piranyadi! Great news!

In regard to the recent article, the most critical point is that "most of these changes will apply to new applicants from 9 July 2012."

apologies for mistake in my recent post (in which i mentioned the new changes came in force today). From the 'Statement of Intent' appendix E it is definitely clear though that as long as we applied before 9th July there will only be a 2 year wait before ILR, not the new 5 year wait.

What makes me wonder though is that they are obviously already over-run with FLR-M applicants already, hence all of us waiting so long. Imagine how many extra applications they will receive before 9th July now! How will they cope with those??!!

Congrats. So it looks like they are working on our cases now. On the new rules i have read the statement of intent they don't apply if u have already applied or granted a visa before 9th of July. u are eligible for ILR after 2yrs but u need to take both life in the UK test & English language test if u apply after oct 2013. So most of us will not have any major impact except if u applied for it and it got refused and if u apply again after 9th the new rules will be applied

So let us pray that we all get the approvals.

Now question arises whether they intentionally delayed flr(m) cases?

Congratulations to both tabrasil and piranyadi! Oh dear, it seems to take 5 months to get the visa now, which means I still have 1 month to wait! :(

finally things are moving!! Congratulations for your visas guys. Really need passports and visas by 26th july for trip abroad - applied 3rd march and biometrics 31st march so judging by these timelines it could be 50/50 whether we go or not...
