Tier 1 Gen Visa Extension

Post by san333 » Fri Jun 15, 2012 8:18 am

Hi all
I have Tier 1 General extension early next year. I claimed points by declaring self employed after earning 40k when I applied last year.
I should have paid income tax to HMRC by Jan 31st 2012. But I did not pay any tax yet and when I go for extension, does the visa officer check whether I had paid my tax for those earnings?
If so will there be any problem in granting the extension??
Will the visa be refused or granted??
Your help will be appreciated

Y can't you pay the tax now? You'd just have to pay a penalty but it would set things straight. Tax evasion is a crime in most countries and by committing it, you risk the chance of getting an extension.
