Tier 1(General) Extension Self Empoyed; earnings question

Hi All

I am after my first year as self-employed and this years wasn't good for me, so i didn't earn much. Will I be able to apply for extension if I will raise my earnings and score points on the basis of second year?

Do I have to prove my earning for the last 12 months or for the whole 2 years for the extension?
