Makes interesting reading... showing how poor some decision making is...

One thing i noticed, the article talks about the new rules and there is a quote:

"We announced important changes to the family route on 11 June, including an increase to this probationary period.

"For those entering on or after 9 July this year the period will be five years. The migrant has permission to work in the UK during this period."

I thought as long as you applied before 9th July you are on old rules, this quote above implies that it is if you arrive before 9th july?
- 10/05/2012 Applied in Islamabad
- 10/05/2012 Application Forwarded to Islamabad OC
- 23/05/2012 Visa application is under process at the British High Commission.
-09/10/2012 Visa Granted :)

There's nothing wrong with the quote. It simply means that the new rules were announced ON the 11/06/2012 but effective FROM the 09/07/2012.

Read it again Gerryboy. The statement is incorrect. The rules will change for those who apply after the 9th July...not enter the UK after this date.

Its also interesting how the article mentions that previous recommendations were made on the same issues but not acted on... that is worrying, surely the ukba is accountable for all its errors
