Write Petition To Nick Clegg Oppose The New Migration Rules

Post by Ali_G » Sun Jun 17, 2012 1:53 pm

Dear All,

Will you please write petition to Mr.Nick Clegg since he is leader of Lib Dem party and deputy of prime minister in order to oppose increasing of requirement income to £18.600 instead of £13.700 within new migration rules being set by Theresa May:

http://www.nickclegg.org.uk/ncorguk_contact.aspx

Pls write and phone your local mp if they are from Lib Dem party or Labour party.

Pls act now before tomorrow comes

To be honest - that's unlikely to make any difference. The coalition agreement requires that they will work together to agree changes and so the best scenario you can hope for is that the Lib Dems will abstain on any vote.

Even if Labour vote against the proposal - the conservatives could win by 50 MPs without the support of the Lib Dems.

You're better off focusing on some sort of court challenge if you think it can be defeated.

Personally I think you are wasting your time and energy on some thing which you can not change. In a few months time,it will all blow over and people will have no choice but to comply if they want to marry from abroad.

If they are not happy, they are always free to marry someone from the UK

I agree but football game ends when the refreree whistle at 90 min, not when one of the team score.

They are happy only to marry from abroad loooolz :D The question about partners who are already married before this new migration rules!

I'm trying to be realistic here.

The *best* chance this has of being stopped isn't petitioning MPs - you can see how little effect that's had with HS2 - some minor route adaptations (e.g. a tunnel where there wasn't a tunnel before)

The best chance is to launch some sort of sexual discrimination case because the minimum income requirements are forced on the sponsor meaning that women who are british citizens who give up work to look after kids or never work at all (and it is more normal that it's the women) will be unable to bring their families to the UK, where a man more normally would.

for someone on 18600 per annum the rules are fair, for some one on less they are not.. you can't help who you fall in love with so if people wan't to fight the rules then they are perfectly entitled to...

the changes are clearly unfair everyone is concerning about this issue must write to MPs and contact them to oppose the changes and make an e-petition to oppose. Lets not give up now at least till it is voted for or voted against ..

FYI -

The only vote that can happen for such immigration changes is a vote against .... and only if a resolution to annul is brought to the table of the parliament and passed within 40 parliamentary working days since the associated statement of changes was tabled (13-Jun).
Life isn't fair, but you can be!

At least I do not see 326 MPs voting against it. No point petitioning nick clegg as lib dems lost seats in last election mainly due to their immigration policies.

Why is £ 13700 fair and £ 18600 unfair?
What about someone who might earn £1200?
What about someone who might earn £11000?
What if someone is doing part time job and earning only £7000, and he cannot find a full time or another job?

Does the unemployed quy who gets under £70 quid a week has no right to fall in love with someone outside eu, marry and then bring them to UK?

Where do you draw the line?
