Good luck

HO unfortunately provide contradicting information - the Immigration rules state that renewals should be applied for during the last month of the initial 12 month Visa..

...obviously there are implications for applying early - in connection with the 4 - year residence requirement....applying early may create complications at the end of the 4 yeras (its early days though - rules might have changed by then)..

Pixi and urgevin (sp) got their extensions but I dont remember whether the date stamped on their passports was....

Either

a). 3 Years after the end of 12months

Or

b) 3 Years after date the HO stamped/recieved the ppt
Where there is a will there is a way.

Thanks Chess for your comment.

It might be beneficial for those, who switched from work permit to HSMP.

For Example:

2 years WP + 1 year HSMP + 3 year HSMP EXTE. > 4years = ILR

Londonite recently posted that the 3 year extension was granted from the expiry date stamped on the EC/visa and the application was made about a 1 month before validity ended. I suppose HO don't want people sending in their passports too early so as to avoid unnecessary queues for those seeking further extensions.
