ILR for my spouse who's living in UK for less than 2 years.

Post by eroaero » Sun Jun 24, 2012 12:41 am

Hello All,
I am a Tier 1 applicant, who is about to apply for my ILR (after completing Tier 1 & HSMP for 5 years) in this August. My wife came to UK as my dependent in Jan 2011, so she has only completed 20 moths in UK. As both of us have to apply for visa at the same time, I have the following questions:
1. Which visa category does my wife needs to apply??
a). Is it ILR dependent??
b). If not which catogary??

2. As she is a Doctor herself, can she work as a Trainee doctor in UK ? following her visa application??
Note - Under Tier 1 visa (as a dependant), she is not allowed to work as a Trainee doctor in UK. She is about to get her full GMC registration (following completion from PLAB 1 & 2).

1. Read FAQs for ILR - WP/Tier 2/HSMP/Tier 1 - Read before posting
2. Leave granted as spouse of settled person is not subject to work restrictions.
Life isn't fair, but you can be!
