Proof of tax payment for self employed in extension

Hi
In my initial application I claimed points as self employed in 2011 (2010-2011 tax year) after earning £40000. I got extension next year. Do I need to show the proof that the tax has been paid for 2010-2011 earnings?
And what happens if there is any outstanding balance of tax at the time of extension?

You don't have to show the tax was actually paid (yet). Unpaid tax would only matter for ILR if there were court judgements, or for naturalization even if there weren't court judgements.

Pay any tax for which the deadline to pay is earlier than the date of application.
Nothing to worry about tax liability with a pay by deadline in future.

My doubt is, does it affect in getting visa extension successfully if full tax has not been paid?

Define "full tax" ... with pay by date(s).
