VAF1B family visitor visa:query regarding 4.4 & 4.10

Hello

I am inviting my in-laws to UK as family visitor. I have following question in regards to section 4: your family

1. Quesrions: 4.4 father’s place and country of birth and 4.10 mother’s place and country of birth : my in-law's parents were born in undivided India, the place is now in Pakistan. So what should be the country of birth they should fill ?

2. Also if they are not sure about the place can they leave it blank in on-line application.

It should be whatever is on their passports.

Thanks for your reply. the place of birth in the question above is not for my in-laws, it for their parents i.e. my grand parents-in-laws.

my grand parents-in-laws did not have any passport and they are not alive any more.

Oh, sorry - I misunderstood. In that case I think you can write the place as it was at that time, but not entirely sure - someone else might be able to answer better.

If I remember right, there was also an option to say "Not Known" on the form - is that not mentioned in the help when filling out this section?

I think that is hardly irrelevant to the application. Just put down where they lived and a rough age.It would be something like India 1905
