@Shahed,

Congratulations! You must be very relieved and happy! Happy married life!

@ those who are still waiting and past 60 days!

I knew someone at VFS, and somehow got in touch with him today and this is the inside information that he has given me.

The information regarding the stages of processing are only with BHC and not VFS. However, VFS does have access to information on when the processing actually takes place. There is no set time on when they do it. It depends on each zone and priority (the ones who are closest to 60 days deadline are processed first). Once the processing starts, individual cases take different times depending on the complexity of the case. Until then, our files are just lying around the office waiting to be touched!!!

It makes me furious that Chennai has obviously been too lazy to touch our applications! But, I hope that they started the processing for most of us and are working hard to get it done! I cant bear the thought that I have to wait longer than 60 days. I am on day 45 now (applied April 27th, Hyderabad).

Good luck to all of you and lets hope this Friday brings lots of good news!!

I would imagine as well that the other visa types take priority as they have shorter service level times, so they would be processed before the settlement visas.

Looking at the UKBA page on Facebook there seems to be a lot of people applying for their student visas now as well.

With all this and the possible extra people wanting to visit for the UK summer holidays and Olympics (which of course they wouldn't have extra staff in for!) no wonder we are all waiting so long. :cry:

Yeah, you are right Sparrow. However, what frustrates me the most is that the UKBA knew in advance that this would be a peak time considering the Olympics, visitor visas and student visas, and also more people applying for settlement to avoid new rules! Thus, they should have prepared better.

But, regrettably, we don't live in an ideal world!

The other thing that makes me want to shout at the top of my lungs is the kind of response you get back from UKBA upon calling to inquire about the status. Seriously?! can they not even respond to those who have gone past 60 days and tell them how much longer it 'might' take rather than giving a standard reply?!

I think all these new rules and lack of service is only making the problem worse! I am sure more people want to make sure they are getting their money's worth when they decide to settle. All this talk about benefits that immigrants are stealing is only reinforcing me to think about benefits.

Counterproductive! I say.

A mocking article that I read recently: Makes me want to laugh at the new rules!

Dear all,

Silly question;

When a appeal is lodged do you re-submitt your application and supporting documents in it entirety along with appeal form, or just the appeal form along with supporting documents which relate to the appeal?

Thank you

@harpreet91,

yes my appeal went to court just because of UKBA's ignorance... we sent them all the docs and in the court the HO lady just said that she never recvd the docs...
the easiest excuse they could ever give...

@shahed007 Congrats!!! All the best for your future...

My wife applied for settlement visa from Hyderabad on 24th April 2012. We are still waiting for response from BHC. Looks there are many people who are waiting who applied before us. Hopefully with god's grace they will process them quickly. I hate this delay and not sure why they need this much time to process dependent visa. Wish they start doing walk-in or face to face interview to complete them in a day similar to the services offered in UK.

All the best to everyone...Hopefully everybody will get good news soon....

harpreet,

the judge told my hubby that i wld have been in UK in dec, 2011( 3 months after the appeal was lodged - Oct, 2011).. those 3 months are the initial review time whn ECO is given time to reconsider his decision based on the facts and evidences u provide along with the appeal form...

Lucy

When a appeal is sent dod you have to resend the original application with supporting documents. Or just the appeal form and any supporting documents justifying your appeal?

I got reply from BHC Chennai today saying that they are having a large number of applications and is facing a backlog currently and thats the reason for the delay.

Even for Hyderabad, they are quoting 66 days. I guess we have to add an extra 2 weeks to the expected date.
