To be honest :-), if you do not get 75 points and do not fall into the transitional arrangements, my guess is you wont be able to apply at all (based on what is written in the form), however, if one still sends it , it is more than likely that they will get a refusal.

I suggest to add another option as well. Become Illegal Immigrant or overstayer!

I think becoming an illegal is more beneficial in current circumstances coz illegal immigrant / failed asylum seekers are offered Cash Incentive for voluntary return and also if they prefer to stay they dont pay any taxes at all.

Well,

Unfortunately , I am in highly skilled job and can't stay illegal , no body will hire me , better for me to go back to India or States.

But I am confident now that this country does not deserves and is even not looking for genuine highly skilled applicants. Salaries are les and cost of living too high.

Highly Skilled Applicants are Doctors (Already their entry is stopped).
IT Engineers (Experienced people get £30K-£35K , Difficult for one to get extension on basis of 75 points (Exception is Finance).
Teachers , Researchers , I don't know how they will able to get points for extension.
