Your application will be reviewed and if the circumstances in your country do not change you might given ILR.

Paying taxes and ni is a responsibility of all residents and will not determine whether you gain ILR.

If UKBA wanted to find out whether you are on benefits they can.You are allowed to claim benefits with your refugee status documents.

I am not sure the answer to your question but i am sure someone will answer your query. The rules were recently changed and i am not sure how that applies to you considering your status and marriage to a british citizen.

KKAJ,

If as you say you have been granted refugee status then you would have been granted ILR/NTLC rather than limited leave to remain of 5 years. Are you sure you have been granted asylum/refugee status?

KKAJ,

Thanks for the education

Its been ages since I last dealt with substantive asylum claims so I was unaware the policy had changed.

Afraid I can't answer your questions with any certain knowledge, but I'm sure others will assist.

Good luck.
