My passport with my Tier 2 Visa was stolen

i had a valid Tier 2 general visa from jan 2010 - Jan 2013 endorsed in my nigrian passport. However, the passport was stolen whilst i was in Nigeria. I have a police report, copy of the Tier 2 visa and the original COS.

I have tried contacting the embassy in Abuja and they have told me to do a brand new application, i thought they could just endorse a new visa.

Do I have to make a new tier 2 visa, can I use the old COS (as I was told by representatives).

Or do they have to assign a new COS, if so will it be a restricted or unrestricted COS and will employer have to do RLMT again?

You probably misunderstood what the embassy in Abuja told you.

There is no question of a new CoS being required but you will have to pay the full entry clearance fee.
