Within 3 months of the visa issue date to avoid having to apply (and pay for) and extension later on.

So that's why they give 27 months probationary period. OK thanks for the info

It used to be 27 months probationary period, but this changed to 5 years on the 9th of July. There will however be a half way stage at 30 months, where further leave for the remaining 30 months will require another visa application.

I applied in June

the new rules seems a bit mean really, why test the genuineness of a marriage involving children for another 5 years!? What more proof do they want

Just an update, my visa status changed this morning to 'with courier attempting delivery' .... big thanks to those answered my questions! Good luck to all still waiting for their visa!
