You don't usually need to give notice if you are getting married in a Church of England churchessexb wrote:Hi there,
Many apologies if this has already been discussed someone else, but I couldn’t find the information elsewhere. I am a British Citizen marrying a Colombian national in May in a C of E Church. She currently holds a PSW until January 2013. We have been told by our Registrar that all admin will be dealt with through the Church, so our vicar seems to think that a Common Licence will be needed.
Anyway, my question is – as my girlfriend is subject to immigration control, is she required to give notice to the Registrar? This is what it states on the UKBA website, so I’m a bit concerned, even though our Registrar and vicar seem to think it’s not necessary.
Thanks so much for your help
hmm yes this is misleading but they do refer you to the GRO (who in turn now refer you to the direct gov website), and CofE are the exception to the rule.essexb wrote:Here http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/visas ... igibility/
