How do you pay your lawyer to fight UKBA in court when you have been out of work for 6months?
That's up to you. I'm just saying that's something you can do after 6 months have passed. The solicitor would charge you £400-£600, which is a bit drastic, but should either get your documents back faster or give you the pleasure of holding UKBA responsible.

Also, someone on this forum (2-3 pages back) mentioned that they have waited for 6 months and called UKBA to enquire about their progress, only to hear that the period is actually 7 months. That's complete nonsense, the officer on the other side of the line gave misleading and clearly false information.

Hi.. well my MP took about a week to get back, but quite honestly I don't think it helped me much because even they were finding it difficult to get in touch with UKBA. I guess the direct letter that I sent to UKBA helped...

I sent it to address stated in the biometric invitation letter. In my case it was at Sheffield office. I guess stating the facts should be enough.. good luck!

Approved!!

Post by davidroode » Sat Jul 21, 2012 1:42 pm

Hi Everyone,

We just got our documents back with the approval letter, and we're thrilled! Here is our timeline if it helps anyone to know:

Application Sent: 23rd March
Biometrics Letter Dated: 24th April
Biometrics Submitted: 28th April
Approval Letter Dated: 18th July
Documents Received: 21st July
BRP Received: delivery scheduled for 23rd July

I know a lot of you are still waiting, but hang in there. It has been a very long wait, but in the end it's worth it. I have tried to think of the waiting time as 4 bonus months in England courtesy of the UKBA's processing time :)

David

Tier 1 (post study work) visas

Post by khaneem » Sun Jul 22, 2012 6:40 am

Julian Huppert (Cambridge, Liberal Democrat)
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many applications for Tier 1 (post study work) visas made before the closure of that route in April 2012 are still being processed; and what proportion of such applications have not been processed within the 28 day standard.

Hansard source (Citation: HC Deb, 27 June 2012, c273W)

Damian Green (Minister of State (Immigration), Home Office; Ashford, Conservative)
holding answer 25 June 2012

Of all in-country applications received before the closure of the Tier 1 (post study work) route in April 2012, 17,000 are still being processed. We received over 14, 000 of these applications in March. Those outstanding have not been processed within 28 days.[/b]
