marriage certificate for Naturalisation application

Post by realhope » Sun Jul 22, 2012 1:29 pm

hi
my wife is applying for naturalisation based on marriage to Irish citizen
(naturalised). our marriage was registered outside of Ireland and we have our marriage certificate with translation and stamps from the relevant ministries back home.
do we have to still register our marriage in Ireland????
the new application for states the follwing:

(((Certified copy of marriage certificate / civil partnership registration*. NOTE: If your civil partnership was registered in a
country other than the State, then recognition of this relationship by the State is determined by reference to the Civil
Partnership (Recognition of Registered Foreign Relationships) Order 2010. You should satisfy yourself that your
registered relationship is recognised before making an application based on being the civil partner of an Irish citizen.)))))

what should we do?????
