Hi everyone, great news, I receive my long awaited ILR today.

I applied February 25, 2012
HO Receive it on the 28/2/2012
Acknowledgement letter 3/3/2012 (Letter was from Sheffield)
Passport stamp with ILR 17/7/2012 (Stamped at Liverpool)
Passport receive 23/7/2012

Passport and other docs was sent to my college, I receive a call to come pick it, this evening, it was a shock, anyway I am really happy to receive it.

I have been a student for the entire 10 years.
I didn't use any solicitor, I did it all by myself.

I did not send any bank statement

Document sent was:

Life in the UK pass notification
All of my previous acknowledgement letters
Letters which accompany passport, each time my visa was extended
My current and previous passports throught the 10 years
My biomertic card
And a letter explaining an invalid application which was made back in 2005, unfortunately, HO had changed the form a few days prior to my application at the time......

I posted all this, as I thought it might be helpful.

I am very greatful for the help and support of other users of this forum, you have been of great help, thanks and good luck to all who are waiting.
Congrats Loveislovely and to everyone who received their ILR recently.
Hope we hear more good news this week.

Thanks
Mate, I think your best bet is to apply 30th of August! As it states you can apply 28 days before your 10 year stay rather than 28 days before your visa expires. I say 30th because its a Thursday and means they receive it on friday (if you use next day recorded delivery) just make sure on the form you date it as 31st. Hope that helps.

Guys aside the one person, has any other March applicant received their ILR?

I applied 22nd of march, acknowledgement letter dated 28th march, biometric letter dated 11th of may, biometric done 15th of may, It is almost 4 months no news. Congratulations those who got their ILR after long painful wait. And good luck to all who are still waiting. May god bless us all and soon give us the news we are waiting for.

I've been following this forum for a while and I remember thinking on Friday- surely loveislovely will get the ILR soon. I'm glad its here.
As for me, I have just applied O-O! Forms sent 20/7/12, received 23/7/12. 7 yrs student visa, 1 year Tier 4 student, 2 yrs Tier 4 Doctor. Money not even taken yet. The waiting begins...

that s strange, may be you might have told them that you still studying currently such college, so they might thave sent to that particular college where you are undertaking your course
When I applied, I didn't mention anything about my college, I did send my acknowledgement letters from the previous applications though, I find it strange too, but I am happy to receive it.

@Jon336, thanks for your support, don't worry, things will work out in your favour, just be persistent, appeal the decision which HO has made on your application, and I can assure you that you will get good news in return. I wish everyone waiting, a speedy and successful decision, goodluck to you all, and I greatly appreciate everyone's help, your post makes a great impact on me, when I was making my application.

I am glad I had you all, as you helped me to save the solicitor fee, thanks loads.

I suggest that you special delivery it on the 31/8/2012, it is best to be on the safe side, it doesn't matter whan HO receives it, they normally go by the post mark, just be sure that you post it before 12 noon on the 31st, in that case, they will receive it by the 1st of September, also you need to put up your receipt carefully and please pay by postal order, just to prevent them returning your application, for not being able to get payment from bank, it may be more expensive, but I find it safer, when you do, just staple it on to the payment sheet of the application, don't worry you will be fine. Good luck

Hi everyone, great news, I receive my long awaited ILR today.

And a letter explaining an invalid application which was made back in 2005, unfortunately, HO had changed the form a few days prior to my application at the time......

quote]

Hello Loveislovely,

Congrats on your well deserved freedom. You said there was a problem in 2005 regarding your application, could you tell me more about that. I have the same problem. I have sent my passport for one of the student extension in 2006, application was returned for payment issues first and as an invalid applicaion the next time. In both the cases have sent the application back to HO with in less than a week. Do you think my case will be OK?

What was your case?

Hope to hear from you soon.

Regards

Yes it is so much better here and very secure. I don't have to reveal the whole world that I am waiting on a visa. It is lot more secure here as we don't have to reveal our identities.
