How much is the visa fee for two people. Is it £1020 or £2040

1020 is the fee for an application made inside the UK. 816 is the fee for a visa application. The fees are per applicant per application

£1020 is for one applicant and if its team of two applicants then they will have to pay £2040(£1020 each)

but as a team is it 1 or 2 applications?

There are no joint applications. As an easy example, if a team of 11 football players want to travel to a country to play a game, they have to make 11 visa applications.
