Our application was for the surrender of Indian passport for our daughter. Does anyone know how long after receiving this text it takes for CGI birmingham to issue the surrender certificate.

Really anxious now as we have to apply for her Indian Visa this week, before we fly out this weekend.

I submitted in Person on the 18th July and received the cancelled passport on 25th by Next Day Delivery.

For me it took 5 working days.

We got this text yesterday evening and wondering how long it will take to get the surrender certificate from this point on.

Wife surrendered it on 26th July in person and we are hoping against hope to get it latest by 01-Aug-2012 in person and then apply for the Visa then and there and get it by friday(03-Aug). Our Flight is on 05th(Sunday)..

I know it is really tight hence the anxiety and tension

Good news. Got the surrender certificate today. All in all 4 days for the certificate. Really impressed.Appplied for the Visa today. Hoping to get it before friday as the flight is in the weekend. Anyone how long in CGI bgham takes for a Visa for a Child?

We got the visa today. Timelines below

Surrender Certificate applcation Submission: 26-Jul-2012
Surrender Certificate Ready for collection: 31-Jul-2012
Indian Visa Application: 31-Jul-2012
Indian Visa ready for collection: 2-Aug-2012

It took 4 working days for surrender and 3 days for Visa. Notificed that around 10.30 A.M the status for online tracking the application changes and the text/sms gets sent out at 1.30PM
