UK Tier1 visa extension [ urgent]

Post by swathika » Tue Jul 10, 2012 12:43 pm

Hi,

I have some queries regarding extension of uk tier 1 visa.

My husband came to UK on July 2011.... and his visa is getting expired on September 1st ,2012. I came to UK as his dependant on November 2011.
We have a baby born on Feb 2012..

We are planning to submit our visas for extension on 1st week of August..
We have around 3000 pounds maintained for 3 months...Is this enough for all three of us according to the recently revised criteria..[ 900 + [2*600]]...

Kindly advise on the exact funds required..

Regards,
Swathika

Yes. You will be fine.

As your husband is in country for more than 12 months.

900 - self
600 - you
600 - your child

For you:
1) Bank Statement for Funds maintenance.
2) Marriage Certificate
3) Cover Letter

For your son:
1) Birth Certificate
2) Bank Statement for Funds maintenance.

Hi,

Thanks a lot for throwing light on this.. We are planning to apply through post
... so the date in the application should be the date we post it ?
Once we send the application, we will be asked to give the biometrics only if we are granted a visa ? Also how we will be contacted for this..

thanks,
Swathika

It took exactly 76 days for me to get the BRP from the day i applied for extension. this includes weekends as well. hope this will give you some idea of the timelines for visa approval.

Post by swathika » Mon Jul 30, 2012 11:37 pm

Hi,

Please find the link below...

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... -2-5-1-elr

Can you please advice if main applicant should undergo the english test as a mandatory requirement for extending tier 1 general [ apart from having the degree completion certificate in english].

Thanks for your response. Does the same applies to the dependant applying along with the main applicant for extension?

No English test is required to extend your visa. The link you provided only reads Leave to Remain and not extending Leave to Remain.

Why you are confusing ILR and Extension.

Let me put it this way. Your husband would have never got Tier-1 if he had not scored the English proficiency points in the previous application. Having said that, you don't have to show the English proficiency as you have already proved in the previous application.

For Tier-1 Dependent Visa extension, there are no rules for English proficiency for dependent.

Rules for ILR are different.

Good Luck!!

Btw, my extension came after 74 days. :)

Urgent advise needed

Post by swathika » Mon Aug 06, 2012 4:21 pm

Hi Shargaur,

Congrats on your extension. Thanks for your help. I am now filling down the applications and came across the following doubts..Can you please spend your time for this and provide your help...

Tier 1 general application [ main applicant ]

1) Question B17
My husband is living in UK since july 2011 [ visa valid from sep 1 2010 to sep 1 2012] which is less than 2 years.. He is stayin in a single address all through tis period. They have asked to fill in previous address section if the applicant has stayed in full adress for less than 2 years...So can we leave the previous address blank or can we write down Indian address

2) Question D4
UK entry clearance reference number is the red number at the top or the vaf number?

PBS dependant application form

1) Question E8
I have got visa refusals twice before so will this affect this case by any chance?

2) Question N4
Since my funds are shown from my husbands bank statements should I need to show a letter from his bank that I can utilise his funds?
what does an A rated sponsor mean?

3) Question L3
Since main applicant and I are applyin together , what to mention for the reference number of recent application made by the main applicant?

-------------

We are enclosing followin docs

12 months payslips
12 months bank statements
Original degree certificate[ main appllicant, spouse]
company deputation letter
Marriage certificate
Tenancy agreement
Recent credit card statement
Baby Birth certificate
Main applicant, dependants passports
Photos

Can you please advise if we need to submit any other supporting documents?

We are applying through post..

Swathika
