Tier 1 extension doubt urgent pleasee!! Thank you

Post by tirfk » Sun Aug 05, 2012 2:30 pm

Hi
My friend has his tier 1 initial visa issued in Feb 2010 for 3 years. After that he came to UK in may 2010 and searched for job for 6 months with no luck (due to recession) and he left. He started working in india since then. Now he want to come back and search for job but he just left about 6 months on gis visa (feb 2013) and wish to know if he can exten his tier 1 based on Indian earnings.
The options he is thinking..
1) He wish to extend his visa as soon as he comes to Uk so that he can tell in the interviews that he has 2 years visa.
2) search for job and after getting the job.. apply for extension then in nov-dec
3)if there is no chance of extension then he wish to stay back in india

Please enlighten in this regard.
Thank you

he can extend his visa using indian earnings after coming here. but question that he should answer is can he get enough points using indian earnings without using uplift ratio?

For visa extension, applicant cannot apply uplift ratio for overseas income even if the applicant was physically present in the country where earnings were made.

so answer is clear if he can get points then he will get an extension if cannot get points then no extension will be issued

Thanks for your reply..
He wont get the points.. he is thinking to come down and work for rest 4 months (hope he gets job asap) and then include them as well. Then he can also claim the UK experience.. making it a bit easier..

Even if he can't get permanent employment, he can attempt with self-employed earnings. It would be a challenge no doubt and BIG one.

Please also have a look at the eligibility criteria for gaining UK experience points. There are some limitations
