Had a call from embassy to bring my passport

Post by moz » Mon Aug 06, 2012 5:10 pm

hi everyone,

I applied for spouse visa for the second time 2 months ago in 3r country (originally from iran,as embassy iss closed in Iran,I applied from Turkey).

today after 59 days from the date I handed my application with all documents to their office in Istanbul,I had a call from them that I have 14 days to bring them my passport. does anyone know it could be a good news or bad news or is it just the procedure of my application?

any comment is appreciated and help me to calm down, until i get there by wednesday morning :)

thanks som 1984 for your reply....

I have a problem now:(......I came to Istanbul last night to attend the british consulate and give them my passport....
at the entrance the security officer did not allow me to get in.he told me that I must have an email from them.I explained to him they just called me and did not send any email. but he insisted that I have to bring a print of email.
I send and email to them and explained my situation, but no reply until now. I am stuck in istanbul now and I am really confused and nervous.
please suggest what I have to do now.they dont even accept any calls from outside as i tried to contact them.what should I do now?I appreciate any suggestion...thanks

Well, when I had a similar phone call (after my refusal had been overturned) the girl from the Embassy called me to ask to bring my passport in. I had then asked her whether I'd be able to get in as it was less hassle to enter Kremlin than the Embassy. She said I should be ok as she would leave my details with the security. When I got there (I had to travel quite some time) the security didn't have my name on his list but I insisted him calling the girl (whose name I gave as a reference ). That solved the problem.
So, if you know the name of a person who called you, give it to the security there but be persistent. You have nothing to lose. And if you don't try- you don't get. So, good luck! I truly hope you'll have it sorted out soon.

hi som1984,thanks again...

if you mean there is iranian embassy, sure there is one,do you think they can help me with that?i will find the number for them and will contact them...

the officer at the entrance did not seem very friendly:( do you think I have to go back there and talk to them again?

but I have to say that I sent an email to world bridge today(that is the only way to contact the consulate)and they replied to me that they understand my situation and they forwarded my query to british consulate. but they said in the email as the consulate is very busy it might take a while from them to contact me. what do you think of that? what does "take a while" mean in this situation?can I count on that they will contact me soon or not?

thanks again
