Under new rules - 6 months are required to demonstrate income.

I have just spoken to my lawyer, He said 6 months pay slips and 3 months bank statements should be sufficient.
Soo confusing. :/

It's not that confusing - the specified evidence as laid down in the immigration rules is:
(f) Monthly personal bank statements corresponding to the same period as the wage slips at paragraph 2(c), showing that the salary has been paid into an account in the name of the person or in the name of the person and their partner jointly.
Where 2c reads:
(c) Wage slips covering:

(i) a period of 6 months prior to the date of application if the applicant has been employed by their current employer for at least 6 months; or
(ii) A period of 12 months prior to the date of application if the applicant has been employed by their current employer for less than 6 months.
So I'd suggest your lawyer isn't keeping up with the rules.

Ditto MPH80

6 months payslips and 6 months bank statements. This is to verify the net pay with the bank statements - just stating obvious!!

sorry to interfere in another's thread...

I changed my bank account in May this year- same bank but different accounts. So should I submit 3 months of statements of previous accounts and 3 months of the new account? or should i do 6 months for both? Can i rely on the caseworker to understand the change of account??

I know it's obvious... but just making sure...

The change of account is fine. Ultimately the ECO will only verify the net salary is going into the account. A letter from the bank confirming the change and the accounts belong to you will suffice.

Most likely your solicitor is a pendu, and does not know the requirements of the new rules. If he doesn't know this basic requirement, I suggest you find another solicitor.

Best to over submit then under submit. Defo go with what the official requirements are to save you money and time.
