Thanks Gala! :) Now let's hope it goes through quickly! :)

Gala wrote:@ UKWannabe, glad to read your post, you really deserved that apology.

I wonder why you have to wait to the end of August to get your papers back, how long do they take to get those biometrics permits ready? Anyways, hope the wait ends soon!!

24 hours late!!

Post by Gala » Wed Aug 08, 2012 12:24 pm

Thanks Apaiva, UKBA has an obscure way to operate. But I'm sure they got tired of me!! I sent lots of letters and faxes with a copy of my itinerary and explaining my reasons for travelling. Not sure this helped a little or I was lucky to have a "fast" (4months) caseworker dealing with my application (set m by the way). Start writing!!

@ mattd0rg, Sorry, some of us who have been here for a while tend to use abbreviations!! You'll get used soon.

BRP= Biometric Residence Permit.

Post by Gala » Wed Aug 08, 2012 8:07 pm

Thank you UKwannabee, still not quite in the other side. Have to wait for the BRP card and make sure there are no mistakes this time. Yes, no problem with the fligth, but the penalty was 250USD, and who knows how much will BT charge for my UKBA phone calls, I was practically glued to the phone in the last few weeks! Hope you get better news soon!

Post by GmanILR2012 » Thu Aug 09, 2012 7:31 am

Great news guys, I finally got my passports back..... my timeline is as follows:

1. Previouse visa: Ancestral
2. Date of expiry of ancestral leave: 17-03-2012
3. Application form used for ILR: SET (O)
4. Number of dependants applying at same time: 1
5. Date application posted: 27-02-2012
6. Date application received at UKBA: 28-02-2012
7. Date payment debited: 28-02-2012
8. Payment mode : DIRECT DEBIT
9. Acknowledgement letter received:29-02-2012
10. Biometric letter received: NO BIOMETRICS
11. Date of biometrics Enrollment: NO BIOMETRICS
12. Date of approval: 31-07-2012
13. Date of return of passport and other documents: 08-08-2012
14. Date stamped ILR:31-07-2012
15. Method of return: in my provided special delivery envelope

For those of you still waiting, keep your heads up.... it is hard not knowing and being totally left in the dark but have a little faith, it will arrive eventually. I opened my passport and thought wow almost 1000GBP and a HUGE amount of stress for one little stamp *Crazy* however it is what this stamp means to us that is priceless!

I just wanted to thank everyone on here for their support and for posting their stats, it really is a great forum and a great way to let of some steam, get some reassurance, share your experience or just reading everyone else's.

On that note, is there anyone who would like to maintain the weekly update? I will post Mondays (week commencing 06-08-2012) as I have already done it, however after that if there is anyone who would be interested, let yourself be knowen :)

I will definitly continue to visit this forum not only out of habit but because your all an amazing group of people and I want to start documenting the comments towards the UKBA and maybe send them and all MP's a transcript to help improve their client service charter. As this being left in the dark and not knowing is totally unacceptable for the large fees associated with this application. Not to mention the waiting times.

If your reading these posts and haven't yet posted your stats, sign-up to the forum (it is really easy) and become apart of the action.

Thats amazing news. I am delighted for you.

I am sending them a fax today today. It's been too painful this whole process. I've been waiting for 5 months and going desperate now.

It's amazing to read news like yours, it gives a bit of hope. ;)

No need to panic! I had my fee taken on 2nd Aug even though my application was received on 16th July. You should be ok by next week.
