Tier 1 Applicant sponsoring mother's visit

Post by rg_del » Mon Jul 09, 2012 1:22 pm

Hi All,

My mother is planning to visit us during October 2012 and my current Tier 1 visa expires on 1st October 2012, please advise if I can sponsor my mother's visit visa using my current permit or I need to wait for extension in order to sponsor her visa?

Thanks,
RG

It depends when does she want to apply for the visa.

Apparently minimum term is 6 months. If she is to apply now it will be valid until January.

You can apply for her visa now while you have time in your permit's expiry.

All the best.

I had the same problem. My passport was at UKBA (still is) when my mother applied for a tourist visa. I sent her an invitation letter, bank statements and recent payslips. The catch is your mother has to show she can cover her expenses. In your invitation letter say she will stay with you. That should cover accommodation expenses. But you don't want to say you will cover all her expenses because that could imply you are sponsoring her, in which case you will be expected to show your visa. Good luck. (My mom got her visa with no problem)
