Tier 1 Extension: Query regarding 'Bonus' from Employer

Post by navu4204u » Mon Aug 13, 2012 11:07 am

Hello,

I have worked for 2 employers during previous 12 months of earnings. I am due for extension in March 2013.

I need to have £40K earnings during last 12 months. I have a question regarding bonus received from 1st employer will be conidered in my total earnings. I have put in table my earnings, please some one answer me.

Employer I - Yearly salary £35k

March 1st 2012 -April 1st 2012 2916.67
April 1st -2012 -May 1st 2012 2916.67
May 1st 2012- June 1st 2012 2916.67
June 1st 2012 -July 1st 2012 4916.67 ( Got £2000 Bonus, and in salary slip its mentioned as "Bonus" and deducted tax)
July 1st 2012-Aug 1st 2012 2916.67
Aug 1st 2012 - Sept 1-2012 2916.67

Employer II - Yearly salary £44k

Sept 1st 2012 - Oct 1st 2012 3666.67
Oct 1st 2012 -Nov 1st 2012 3666.67
Nov 1st 2012 -Dec 1st 2012 3666.67
Dec 1st 2012 -Jan 1st 2013 3666.67
Jan 1st 2013 -Feb 1st 2013 3666.67
Feb 1st 2013 - March 1st 2013 3666.67

====================================================================================

TOTAL 41500-00

Can I show earnings like this and get required points? I am just worried about the 'Bonus' part and how will it be calculated, since I worked for 2 employers.

Please some one answer me. I would be grateful.

That's perfectly fine mate. I was in exactly the same situation during my first application nearly 2 years ago. 2 jobs with a significant bonus at the end of the second job (way more than your £2000 :D ) and it was all good. As long as it is mentioned on your payslip and on bank statement, you should be fine. Applied in person at a PEO, CW was curious about the bonus and sent me away to go get a letter from employer to confirm that bonus and confirmation from HMRC for that bonus (he probably thought I wouldnt return..lol). Rang HMRC and had them fax me a confirmation the same day (as it was going to take 2 weeks to arrive in the post) and got a letter from employer confirming the bonus and sent them off to the dude at UKBA.

My visa arrived 5 days later.

Hmm, oh so, I need to get a letter from employer, I will get it.

Some one said me, since I worked for only 6 months in Employer I and therefore £2000 bonus will be devided by 2 ( only £1000) will be considered for my total earnings...is that true?

Yes please do, but if you are applying in person, do not include it with your application (I'm assuming you have all the other prescribed documents). If you include it in your application, and then encounter a stubborn CW, they might go asking for something else entirely. So get the letter, keep it to yourself, then if/when they request for it (in a bid to make life a bit more difficult for you), then you provide it.

Seriously? hahaha..that is the funniest thing I ever heard...and I think you should stop talking to that person...lol. Just not true mate.
