Once you have ILR, how long can you leave the UK for?

Apologies if this has been answered, but I can't find it anywhere in the forum.

I was wondering what the rules are once you've been approved for ILR? Can you come and go to the UK as much as you want? Are there any maximum time periods that you can leave the UK for?

e.g. Can you go to Australia for 3 or 6 months and then come back to work in the UK?

Thanks

You shouldn't remain outside of the UK for longer than 2 years.

Thanks for the quick reply. So leaving for 6 months will not cause any issues at all?

Need to be careful if you want a British passport... Something like 450 days in the preceding total 5yr period and I think 3months in the preceding year before application to be British...

Check the website to double confirm but im 90% sure..
