Financial requirement question

Under the new rules I hope to apply for my wife and child at the end of January, by which time I will have been with the same employer here in the UK for over a year.

With my current salary and savings I am a little under meeting the financial requirements. However, I know that with overtime I may be able to make this up. What I want to know is if they will test my finances based on JUST the payslips in the 6 months prior to the application (in which I hope to do the overtime) or will they look at the first 6 months of the year as well (in which I did very little overtime)?

Which visa are you applying?

For salary you wil have to show for 12 months out of the last 15 months. So as long as your total salary (gross) is greater than £27k (that is with 3 dependants) u were well safe. This Section 7A

In Section B Maintenance it says You only need to complete this section if you do not need to meet the financial requirement or were granted leave to enter/remain as a partner before the 9th July 2012

So if you meet the financial requirement I think u shud be safe.

Best way to proof ur earnings is:

1. Letter from employer stating ur salary (gross)
2. Last 12 months payslips
3. Bank statements

Many people might come up with many suggestions and u might always have some doubt regarding the authenticity of the responses. I do not blame, getting the visa is very critical. I suggest jot down ALL the questions that you might have in a pad. Go thru the forms FLR M or any other which is relevant. Call up the HOME OFFICE and ask them these questions one by one. Whr are u applying for? Within the UK or outside UK? If outside UK then u shud call the British High Commission. U will be put on hold but have patience, its a lot of money so better WAIT than Sorry

Thanks for the reply.

The visa is for my spouse and her son. So FLR M I guess???

Basically under the new rules I hope to apply in January of next year

Including overtime for whole of 2012 I expect my wage (before tax to be) 19700.

So.....if I am sponsoring my spouse and her son I need

22400 less 19700 = 2700 *2.5 + 16000 = 22750 in savings in acct for 6 months prior to date of application.

Does this sound right????

Just incase you did not know the required income is before tax not after. Do you meet the required income before tax?

Yeah, I am aware. My normal salary before tax is 18600 but as thanks to overtime will end up just under 20000

Bear in mind they will look at your salary month on month, and they will pick the lowest earning month of the previous 6 and use this to calculate your salary. They dont take an average they go off you lowest earning month so you must be consistent with the overtime.

I am confused and concerned by this. Can anyone confirm this is true? My overtime is not consistent month by month, some months there is overtime available and I do it, other times there is not. So it is likely to be 3-4 months of overtime in a 6 month period.

3 questions:

1, Can anyone confirm that they will take only the lowest month's salary?

2, When I make my application how many month's salary slips must I show?

3, Will they calculate my annual wage based on what I have earnt in the last 6 months or last year?

Confused, alarmed and grateful for any clarification.

Thank you for the clarification. They may as well not count overtime then. Who gets overtime every single month? I get a bonus every quarter as well. Seems that cant be used either. What a joke.

Oh and MPH80, your help is appreciated. Though, if I were you I would cut back on the condescending tone of some of your posts, it makes you look very small.
