I believe that all the applicants eagerly waiting for their naturalisation approval should wait patiently rather that calling or e-mailing the citizenship dept.

let the INIS get on with their work and hopefully very soon all applicant who applied until the end of 2011 will receive the good news :)

Applied: Early March 2012
Acknowledgement received: Mid March 2012
Basis: 5 years residency

Got a letter today from INITIAL PROCESSING TEAM, that "the information provided in your birth certificate was considered insufficient for processing this further". The letter requested the applicant to fill an affidavit (enclosed with their letter) for Birth Certificate and recent utility Bills.

What does initial processing team do?
How long does it normally take from initial processing team to approval/rejection?

Thanks

Initial processing team , checks if all the required document are there with the application and then send it to further processing team, who send your details for garda vetting/report once they get the report then send the file to the minster for his consideration.

I am not very sure how long it would take from initial processing team to an outcome from the minister, since the processing is faster now it may take about 4-6 months once it goes forward from the initial processing.

I would advise you the fill out the affidavit from a solicitor and send it along with the recent utility bills to INIS asap by reg post, hopefully you should have the naturalization approved by the end of this year .

thanks waiting2birish.

When they asked for additional documents, I thought that it is close to the finish line. I was hoping that this means they started 'processing' (not sure what that really means in this context) 2012 applications. As per your explanation, there is a long way to go.

At least, it's good to know that something is happening with the application.. :)

You'll get normally 20 days for paying the fee and they will mention the last date on the invitation letter.

All standard cases applications up to Sept/October 2011 have been selected for August 2012 oath ceremony. I hope all standard cases of 2011 will be completed by October ceremony.

I cannot define what is standard application. They are the one who decides what is standard applications. Anyway EU/Irish spouses are not standard.

For everybody's attention, the next oath ceremonies are scheduled on 15th October and 13th December. You can plan your vacations and book the tickets accordingly.
