ESTA

Post by dream77boy » Tue Aug 14, 2012 1:51 pm

Hi everyone

I recently got British citizenship (previously was an Indian citizen with a 10 year B1/B2 visa on which I travelled to the US a few times)
My question is now that I a UK citizen, I need to apply for ESTA
am i eligible to do so? I mean it says on ESTA website, if you do not hold a US visa, u can apply for ESTA, my B1/b2 visa on the Indian passport (which I have now surrendered and is no longer valid) was valid till 2015.
so can i apply for ESTA now?

thanks

Absolutely. I was in a similar situation, the US visa in my original passport was still valid, but still have both nationalities since I don't have to surrender my original one.
So I applied to ESTA, and entered the US twice with my new British passport since then with no problem at all.
