Hi!
I have a question regarding english letter requirement. My friend has done Masters from pakistan and PGD(one year post graduate diploma) in bussiness administration from UK. He wants to apply for HSMP. He is not sure wheather he should get letter from his uni in pakistan or from his University in UK regarding english language confirmation. Any help!

letter has to correspond with a 3 year Bachelors degree.
Masters/PhD degree or any other degree less than 3 years in length cannot be used to prove your English skills.
Where did your friend do the Bachelors degree. I am guessing they did it in Pakistan before doing Masters ???
Hopefully they have Bachelors degree certificate too still ? If so, letter must come from Pakistan

If I can have a go at it, based on the info provided, the letter you are planning to get will not be considered. The reason being, your bachelors degree(equivalent to British Bachelors) should be taught in english. Not your MS from pakstan or PGD from UK. ( Ofcourse you can not combine 2 + 1 as 3 )
The only option you have is IELTS

which means the Pakistani Masters will be accepted for the Qualifications points, but NOT for the English requirement WITH or WITHOUT letter - because it was only 2 years in length

That's not correct, it has to be a bachelors degree course, equivalent to a UK bachelors degree and taught in English. Only this combination is accepted.

Ive done mba and bba from the same university Pakistan. I sent both my degrees to Naric and they say that my mba is equivalent to Uk bachelors degree and my bba is equivalent to gce advanced or scotish advanced standard. so I got two letters from the university, one for bba that it was taught in english and one for mba. This is wat i assumed that naric considers both my bachelors and masters combined which is more than 4 yrs of study as uk bachelors...

Hi Fadi,
Can you please let me know from which Pakistani university you did your graduation?
Regards,
