I am not aware of the Time that took by Home office to process their cases! Reasons of refusal was mostly due to income criteria.
I am in similar situation my ext is due by end of this month.I don't know what shall i do i can't score for income ; coz i was given one year visa and during one year i was suppose to work for at least eight months and earn a HUGE amount for British Govt to qualify for FLR

Hi all,
My HSMP (in country) application was received by the home office on Dec 18th. I'm applying through an immigration company. I asked this morning whether they had received a reference number for my case and they said that they had but didn't tell me when. Apparantly after the recent changes new applications were being processed very very quickly (in about 5 days). Should I be worried that I haven't heard? Has anyone whp applied on or after 18th Dec had approval yet?
I'm nervous about my application bc my wage slips were internet print outs on letter head and signed but not stamped. If your documents are rejected how soon do you usually hear once ref # has been allocated?
I really appreciate your help!

mrs Khan - are you going to appeal if you are rejected? If you are given a notice to leave because of all this, you should definitely stay and fight. How were you to know the requirements when you first arrived?
Good luck to you - LondonBlonde

Just got my passport back, LTR extended to Jan 2009 (from Jan 2007).
My timeline:
Applied for HSMP on
4th Dec, approved on
7th Dec. Docs back on
9th
Applied for LTR (change from student to HSMP visa) on
12th Dec, then a problem with my credit card charging (all materials returned to me) and then my photos were missing by them - i re-sent the photos to them. Got approved on
2nd Jan. received Passport on
4th Jan, today.
Jk2007 wrote:Anyone who applied after December 10, got the of FLR(HSMP) approval?
Any one expecting the decision in 1/2 week of January?

So far we have seen only HSMP5thDec's FLR(HSMP) approval (This is initial HSMP FLR).
Does that mean that HSMP Extension approvals for December Applicants will start coming only from next week..?

Here's the simple guidance to follow. Do not worry at all for 4 weeks from the date of application. Well yes, a few might get in a week, but that should not be used as the comparision matrix. Considering December having Christmas/new year holidays, make to 5 weeks.
In other words, do not worry for 4 to 5 weeks from the date of application. I have seen several people worry in these forums, just starting from 24 hrs after they have sent. I think it is better to set the expectations right (if not anything, it will save lot of anxiety for several people).

How does the FLR(HSMP) applications are dealt with? If the HO is not happy with an evidence, do they seek further evidence?

There is scope for 1 review if FLRHSMP is Rejected
or the Work Permit option .
Am I correct?

The problem is for review, you cannot submit additional documents.
I dont know if one can reapply in case of rejection ie., submit a new FLR(HSMP) application, satisfying the HO requirements.
WP option is almost not workable as that requires Employer's sponsorship.

If you look at the payment acknowledgement letter they said dont send additional documents unless asked by case worker
So if they need any clarification they will contact us
I dont think we can reapply with new FLR HSMP

Somewhere I read that 70% of the applications are processed within 4 weeks, and 90% before 9 weeks..

I picked up my kiwi passport from the post office this morning. Got 4 years extension.
Sent Application: 9 Dec 2006
Received Reference Letter: 11 Dec 2006
Application Approved: 8 Jan 2007
Extended until: 7 Feb 2011
Total Points: 105
Qualification: 35
Earnings: 45
UK experience: 5
Age: 20
This is a paragraph in the letter which most of you would be interested in.
"The immigration rules allow an extension of stay as a highly skilled migrant to be granted for a period 'not exceeding three years'. However in the light of changes to the immigration rules which came into effect 3 April 2006 and increased the qualifying period for settlement from four to five years, the secretary of state has agreed to exercise discretion in this case and to approve the application for further leave to remain until 07 February 2011."

Although, I am glad to have scaled thru at this time, nevertheless, I am totally against the retrospective application of the rules. Hence I will continue to support all efforts to reverse the rules. I will encourage everyone to join and support the HSMP forum in this regard.
I wish every applicant the very best.

Hi folks --
Sorry to resurrect a ''dead'' topic, but I am responding to a PM question.
This may be valuable for other folks, so ...
At
http://www.workpermit.com we have an HSMP Points Calculator (we produced the first one on the internet before our competitors copied us).
What we have not pointed out clearly before is that our points calculator has ALWAYS had the option to calculate for your extension by selecting your status in the first pull-down menu.
You actually get two different pages depending on which option:
HSMP Points Calculator
http://www.workpermit.com/uk/hsmp_calculator.htm
HSMP Extension Points Calculator
http://www.workpermit.com/uk/hsmp_exten ... ulator.htm
Hopefully this will help for quick evaluations.
Yes, we keep our calculators up-to-date with the new rules ...
Thanks for listening,
The Admin
