Hey, its a bit frustrating as I had the same experience and applied on the 11/03. It seems like we need to keep trying until we reach an operator that will be kinf enough to help us. Ive sent so many faxes, but not response iether. So sad..

Set M no problems associated.We have had daughter since he has come to the UK. Im British, im writing on behalf of my husband from Kenya.

Applied via dudley settlement checking service. 27th June
Application received 28th June
acknowledgement letter received approx two weeks later.
payment taken 16th July (approx) debit card.
Biometrics letter received 21st August (sent 16th)
Biometrics done 23rd August

now waiting...

I was told by the checking service it takes around six weeks according to other clients. But they were told by UKBA its an average of 52 days. Not sure if she meant for biometrics to be sent.

I was told by post office when having biometrics that it will now take three weeks to process? Not sure if this is how long need to wait now? Let you know.

my theory is they make a decision on your application before sending biometrics then they take the time to make your card.

We found that with the checking service we didn't need half the stuff we had prepared to send such as photos sponsor letter etc... We also got all our originals back instead of having them sent in post. Including BOTH our passports. You only get a biometrics residence card now.

Hello everyone,

After 10 months of wait I received a call from the home office Monday morning(20/08/2012 to say that the documents have arrived and asked me if I want to collect them or they should post it to my address. I couldnt wait for another month for the post so I said I will come and collect it myself. So me, my wife and my son went to collect our passport and voila there it was ILR stamped passport. I still in a shock because I thought I am never going to get my passport. But the wait is now over but I am going to ask a refund from them.

This is crazy. My Tier 1 extension took less than 3 weeks in 2009. You would think that systems get better. What makes me even more upset are the promisses my lawyers have made, which are proving totally false ito time frame. I'd have done this in person and paid the extra £400 odd if I'd known.

Ive never heard about them sending an email, they send a letter instead. Can you please give us details? It's very unsual..
