i am 31yrs and 11months old, and i claimed 10 points cause its purely based on DOB vs Date of application

i will let you know if they decide to reject those points for some hidden reason (i.e. i didnt invite home office to my birthday party)

I think for 31 yrs and 10 months ( Or 11 months)..It's 5 points not 10 points.

I think you are right miki. I think if you are 30 or 31 years old, then you can claim 5 points.

it really couldnt be much clearer, for HSMP renewal anyway:

29 and under: 20 points
30 or 31: 10 points
32 or 33: 5 points

AT THE TIME YOU SUBMIT YOUR VALID APPLICATION

theres nothing about X years and Y months, Z days and ABCD minutes.

You are not 32 until your 32nd birthday.

It says 30 or 31, i think a person is 31 until he is 31 years and 364 days old.
If it states Under 31, its 30 years and 364 days.

Oh crap. Sorry. I was looking at the HSMP application guidelines. Not the HSMP renewal ones. Gee, I didn't even realise you have to go through some points based system for leave to remain

Hi hopeful applicant,
Probably you realised that the points system we were saying is correct.

for new application the points for age are different, but the logic is the same we have discussed so far in this topic.

27 or under - 20 points
28 or 29 - 10 points
30 or 31 - 5 points
32 and over - 0 points

And yes ukboy...I now realise that what you are saying could very well be correct...but what is worse, is that I ALSO now realise that I probably have to go through all this crap again in a year or so
