Current Processing Times - Help us to help you

Post by Kayalami » Fri Jul 30, 2004 11:07 am

Ladies and Gents,

We appreciate the tension/ nerves involved in any immigration related application especially where processing times are uncertain. This is particularly obvious from the HSMP perspective. Understandably people will want to know where others stand in relation to their position. However such concerns can manifest themselves in questions of a fairly rhetorical nature e.g.

"What applications are being processed"

"Can anyone tell me about the success of my application submitted on date x, payment deducted on date y?"

The moderators have noticed with some concern that such rhetorical questions have recently and repeatedly featured on the forum. With all due respect to the posters these do not add value to the board and can actually clutter up the database. We therefore believe that it is in the best interest of all for our visitors/ members to refrain from posting such. Obviously we do not want to stop the 'contributing in good faith' spirit of the board - a useful approach may be to ask before posting "is this necessary/ helpful?"

Please refer to the FAQ announcement and Consolidated Useful Posts sticky - there is plenty of information there on processing times and we shall endeavour to keep that current. Likewise please consult the FAQ and do a basic search on the forum before posting - I still note questions along the lines of "do I need to submit a passport with my HSMP appplication?".

We regret that posts deemed in all fairness to be rhetorical and non value adding will henceforth get deleted likely without notice. Thank you for your understanding and do feel free to constructively comment on this.

KAYALAMI,
I understand the moderators concern. Due to the slow process of HO in july, there were too many such questions. I myself spend lot of time analysing how many applications they are processing per day and some other equations. There are some people who fall under silent waiting category and some can't control their emmotions and want to get some other peoples view. Their view give them some mental satisfaction, and then they continue waiting. In my view You can not control such posts. Instead try to collect all such post in one sticky head say "application process". People will give their opinion under this column. If the replies are silly or trash you can always delete it. Also you can delete the old posts under this column so as to control the forum webspace.

I don't think the "help us to help you" has really caught user attention. Change it to Current application status and you see the change :)

This is entirely my view. If you don't like it ignore it.

thanks kayalami for changing the heading of your sticky column. you might have noticed the change in number of views, before it was 96 and now it is 206.

No post is delivered on Sundays so how come HSMP guys are processing apps received on March 23 - a Sunday? Essentially in 5 working days - 40 man hours, assuming that at least one person is working, applications received in 4-5 hours on Saturday March 22 (a half working day) have been processed. Considering the number of applications received and payment @150GBP, this sure is a cash cow for the HO and dismal value for money in terms of efficiency for the applicants ''

something wrong here..

Post by bugmaster » Mon Aug 09, 2004 1:10 pm

It looks to me that there is something wrong with the data they publish.
It might be that they publish the older case they have and may be they have one case from 23/03 and most of the cases they look at are much further dated.
I have a friend whose documents have been recieved on March 10th and his decision letter is dated 11th June. I don't belive they have moved just 13 days for 2 months.

it is a fact that there was almost no moment in entire july.

date processing appl. recd on
on 11th june - 6 mar
21 june 9 mar
28 jun 12 mar
26 jul 18 mar
02 aug 22 mar
09 aug 23 mar

these were the dates posted by them. already 2 months have passed and they could not cover march applications.

From the minutes available in the "User Panel" on "workingintheuk" website, an average of 600 applications are being received per week. This brings in cool £90,000 per week or over £4,680,000 per year in fees alone. If I were heading the HSMP, I would further reduced the eligibility points. This would bring in more applicants, and since there is no accountability with regards to efficiency, this could become a big money earner ''

As I guessed...HO took a record(in last 6 months) leap of 9 days in a week. It is now processing 31st march. :D :D

As per the latest update on 16th August, they are processing cases of 31st March!! Thankfully they have moved, from what seemed like a roadblock.

Hoping for the best:)

5th april

Post by eastboy » Mon Aug 23, 2004 10:57 am

dear all

HO just updated the page and they are now processing application of 5th april

http://www.workingintheuk.gov.uk/workin ... rvice.html?

but according to my past experience they may be processing application of 11-15th april. as they got habit to write 10 days back time from actual time.

so any one who got the approval let us know your application date and reference no.

regards
Eastboy

There were lot of applications on 5th april, I doubt whether they crossed it yet. Even if they put the update do not expect it to be more than 2 days i.e max 7th april. or may be same 5th april.
